Andhra coaching centre founder seen beating student, Nara Lokesh orders action

Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh reacted strongly and directed police to take appropriate action after a video of the founder of a private coaching institute beating a student in Srikakulam went viral on social media.
In the video, a man identified as Basava Venkata Ramana, the founder of the coaching institute called ‘Indian Army Calling’, is seen assaulting a student with a laptop charging cable.
The student can be seen crying, making evasive moves as Ramana swings the cable to hit him. A man in a black T-shirt is also seen in the background doing nothing to stop the attack.
Minister of Human Resources in Andhra Pradesh, Lokesh, called the incident an “unwarranted act of aggression”, demanding stern action against the accused.
“Whatever may be the reason, such acts of aggression is unwarranted. @appolice100 and @SRIKAKULMPOLICE will take appropriate action against the concerned,” Nara Lokesh posted on X, taking note of a social media post featuring the video.

The incident reportedly happened last year but came to notice recently after going viral on social media.
The X user who shared the video of the act requested the minister to take cognisance of the incident and initiate action.
“You are the elder brother @naralokesh. This is an issue that needs to be taken very seriously. Basava Ramana, founder and president of Srikakulam District IAC (Indian Army Calling), is playing with the lives of thousands of students. They collect from five to ten lakhs from the students saying that they will give jobs in army, navy, air force,” the post said.
Meanwhile, the Opposition Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) seized the opportunity to attack the Chandrababu Naidu government, claiming that the accused is close to Union Minister and TDP leader Rammohan Naidu.
“Truth Bomb. Union Minister Rammohan Naidu’s follower’s gharana fraud exposed in Srikakulam. Basava Ramana, who established a center called Indian Army Calling and collected Rs. 5–10 lakhs from each other by promising to provide jobs in the Army, Navy and Air Force,” YSRCP’s post written in Telugu read.
The Jagan Mohan Reddy-led party further accused Ramana of snooping on girl students at the coaching centre.
“In the name of training, he installed secret cameras in the rooms of the girls who came to the centre and recorded videos. He intercepted them and harassed the girls with his friends. Four boys who told the girls at their houses that Basava Ramana was making videos were arrested,” it added.
“He has been committing such evil deeds for many years… The coalition government is indifferent. A close friend of Srikakulam MLA Gundu Shankar,” the YSRCP further claimed.
“If governance is not good, then such evil people will rule. Do we need more examples than this @ncbn?,” it questioned.
